About Shadi:

Emmy and Wendy’s Employee of the Month-winnin' writer and creative producer who specializes in comedy and genre.

She just wrapped writing on The Sandman on Netflix and made her Marvel Comics writing debut in 2023's Marvel Voices.

Shadi comes from a long line of Montana homesteaders who only ate what they grew and killed. She was raised grinding deer-handle knives, melting lead for bullets on the stovetop, and can make a lamp out of any ol’ creepy thing.

Like many queer folks, Shadi fled daily minor hate crimes to become a sensitive artist in Hollywood. She co-created and show-ran the Emmy-winning Danger & Eggs for Amazon Prime Video [Critic’s Choice, GLAAD nom], Executive Produced Twelve Forever for Netflix [GLAAD nom], and the live-action gender-bending sci-fi series Forever Alone with Adaptive Studios.

Shadi directed the live-action comedy pilot Let’s Go Atsuko! for Quibi and served as a consulting producer on the Norman Lear comedy Clean Slate for Amazon Prime Video.

In 2022, she developed a teen comedy for HBO Max with Tommy Lynch, adapted a sci-fi YA novel for Warner / Spotify, and sold her script “Pretty Cursed” to Showtime with Julie and Lilly Wachowski producing/directing.

Before her successful writing career, Shadi was the Animation Supervisor on all 72 episodes of the hit show Yo Gabba Gabba!  [Bafta Award Win, Emmy Nom] She supervised segments for The Aquabats Super Show, MAD, and Parks & Recreation. Her talents have earned her multiple Webby Awards, including one for producing and creative directing YoGabbaGabba.com. She’s a huge comic-book and sci-fi geek with a wide network of connections in nerd Hollywood and has worked with James Gunn on six projects including the Guardians of the Galaxy Inferno Music Video, Super, and Brightburn.

As the former Creative Director of the interactive studio turned production company PUNY Entertainment with business partner Chris Hardwick -- Shadi worked on 15 TV pilots and tons of development. Using her background in software development, she produced and creative directed countless high-end digital projects for Paramount, STX, and Jive Records. She negotiated Master of Services agreements with brands including Target, Aveda, and General Mills. Additionally, Shadi has written and produced branded short-form content for Pepsi, Pillsbury, and all of the Kid’s Cereals with mascots.

Splitting time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas -- Shadi lives with her costumes, collections, antique furniture, and pets. She’s obsessed with spaceships and sea witches.
